Swiya Farms is working to power the farm with solar
In the spirit of regeneration, we are moving away from the current small gas generator to an off-grid, 24kW solar array to power critical infrastructure and support the farm’s growth.

Throughout the project, there will be many opportunities to engage with Swiya and partners, and to participate in workshops and training to build new skills for the renewable energy sector.
JULY 15 - Powering Swiya Farms Dinner
Join Swiya Farms for an evening in the community to learn about our plans to power the farm from solar energy! Meet Swiya’s project partners, hear about the project, and share your thoughts. Dinner provided.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to put up a solar panel? Join this 2-day workshop for hands-on learning on how to design a solar PV system and how to install a ground mounted, roof rack, and top of pole system. At the end, you will be eligible to receive a certification in solar design and installation. Lunch provided.
No experience necessary! The workshops are beginner friendly. All you need is an interest to participate. Registration is open for 10 to 15 participants.
JULY 16 & 17 - Learn to Install Solar Panels and Design a Panel System

Indigenous-led Just Transition Community Training
Sacred Earth’s new training mobilizes climate and energy knowledge for Indigenous communities. It provides scientific, technical, planning and policy knowledge, and offers pathways rooted in Indigenous knowledge and stories. Our goal is to empower Indigenous individuals, communities, and organisations to move away from fossil fuels to renewable energy sovereignty.
No experience necessary! The training will be beginner friendly.
Open to shíshálh Community Members (and may have limited space for others).
