about Naia

LEE

Naia began organizing over a decade ago, for housing justice, gender equity, and Indigenous sovereignty, and was later drawn to climate work by shared visions of a more just world. Between 2021 and 2026, they helped develop Common Horizon, a social movement organization of everyday people organizing for affordable, dignified climate solutions. Having worked with Youth Climate Lab, Environment Hamilton, CUPE 3906, and grassroots campaigns for housing justice and Palestinian liberation, Naia is grateful to get to use their skills and experiences in service of climate solutions that directly benefit frontline communities, and that recognize and seek to transform the root causes of climate crisis by uplifting Indigenous sovereignty and stewardship.

Naia has experience developing organizational strategies and structures, designing operational and financial systems and processes, and coordinating projects, staff, and volunteers. She believes that operational questions—how groups use and access resources, how they organize themselves and their work, how they are together—aren’t neutral: the ways that organizations respond to them reflect larger commitments to care, reciprocity, abundance, and ultimately, liberation. Naia is excited to support Sacred Earth’s projects and organizational development, and to continue building relationships across the climate justice ecosystem.

Aside from operations and organizing work, Naia can be found cooking, bouldering, dancing, reading, writing, in the garden, or by water.
